Standard Spanish Language Program

As part of a larger process of Spanish training, only one week is required to begin speaking Spanish. We offer Spanish language training for every level, from beginners to advanced students. Our placement exam will help you to find out at which level or sublevel you are. Start at the beginner’s level and finish in the advanced level classes.  Programs are available from as short as one week to up to three months. Begin anytime at any level.     

We recommend I that you to take between three and five classes per day. Each class has a maximum of six students.

 20 different Grammar Courses, Structured Conversation Courses, Culture, Literature, Legends, Politics, Mexican History, Business Culture, Mexican Cooking, Dance

Ask for Private Classes to work on specific aspects of your Spanish! Private classes are always available.

Intensive Spanish for Travelers

An intensive course designed to last one or two weeks. This course will equip you with a strong set of survival skills. Recommended for beginners who want to travel. Ideal for people that need to learn to communicate in specific contexts (restaurants, hotels, bus stations…) and for people who need to expand their ability to understand Spanish and express themselves in Spanish.

Plus Program

A Spanish language and cultural immersion course to optimize the learning of Spanish. The Plus is designed to include 5 hours of one-on-one classes plus an hour in a group daily. It runs for 3 intensive weeks and students at any level are welcome to join this program. SEE MORE+

 

Trimester Program

Our Trimester program is now offered year round. Enjoy the highest level of flexibility and study with our experienced staff, whenever you have time! Each program runs for 12 weeks. The Trimester Program is offered for students who are looking for long term instruction in Guanajuato for an economical price. You can take this program on three different levels. The day of your arrival we will give you a placement exam to determine your level. Each day you will receive three hours of instruction. Below you will find an example of how your schedule could be structured.

If you are in the middle of any of the levels, we will teach you the rest of that level and then classes from the next! You will only receive the instruction that corresponds with your skills.

**Ten students maximum per class. All Trimester students have an option of taking cooking or dance classes for two hours per week.**

What should you know about the school?

 Escuela Mexicana uses the communicative teaching approach. Classes are taught in Spanish by native speakers. Small class sizes ensure that students receive personal attention and intensive interaction with instructors. Classes incorporate:

• Materials (we have developed our own work books) and activities that reflect real-life situations

Escuela Mexicana – “More than Spanish” program…
Take our 4 week “More than Spanish program” with an attractive discount or choose any subprogram you are interested in.

History of Mexico and Mexican culture.

Program Contents: Each student will take 2 group classes at his/her respective level. 2 hours of private classes will be given as a workshop (in English, in Spanish, or in both languages) about Mexican culture and History by teachers who hold a university degree in that area.  During your private classes, you will be able to visit museums or important buildings in Guanajuato along with your teacher.

• Mexican and Latin American literature (intermediate to advanced students only).

Program Content:Each student will take 2 hours of Spanish at his/her respective level. Each day, there will be a two-hour workshop on Mexican and Latin American literature and poetry.

Mexico Program for Adolescents

• For adolescents between 15 and 18 years old.
• Intensive two or four week study program.

Children´s Program

-Available May to august or ask for other months.
-Classes are divided by age: 6 to 9 years and 10 to 12 years and if necessary by Spanish proficiency
-Classes for two to four hours per day. They incorporate language and cultural elements.

Extracurricular Activities

We think that a good language program should not only focus on the language aspect. In addition, it should offer the student an environment to feel well. We at Escuela Mexicana are very concerned about the student´s well being. Therefore, we offer a variety of excursions and extracurricular activities.

Extracurricular activities:

• Intercambio--This weekly gathering allows students to practice Spanish with local Spanish speakers in an informal social setting.
• Free movie night--Watch a movie in Spanish and discuss it afterwards with instructors and fellow students.
• Free table games--Try your hand at Pictionary, cards, bingo, and more.

• Guided, trips to cultural activities such as concerts and local events
